Description | Survey course introducing chemistry. Topics may include inorganic, organic, biochemistry, food/physiological chemistry, and environmental/consumer chemistry. Designed for allied health students and for students who are not science majors. | ||||||||||

Learning Outcomes |
1. Use basic apparatus and apply experimental methodologies used in the chemistry laboratory. 2. Demonstrate safe and proper handling of laboratory equipment and chemicals. 3. Conduct basic laboratory experiments with proper laboratory techniques. 4. Make careful and accurate experimental observations. Relate physical observations and measurements to theoretical principles. 5. Interpret laboratory results and experimental data, and reach logical conclusions. 6. Record experimental work completely and accurately in laboratory notebooks and communicate experimental results clearly in written reports. 7. Design fundamental experiments involving principles of chemistry. 8. Identify appropriate sources of information for conducting laboratory experiments involving principles of chemistry. |

1. Late Assignments will NOT be accepted and will result in a zero, except for students who were absent due to illness and have valid proof. 2. Only regular scientific calculators are permitted during exams/quizzes. All other electronic devices such as cell phones, iPods, computers, etc. are not allowed. 3. All assignments need to be turned in through Blackboard (BB). |
